Supernatural Beings
Hello! Welcome to the eighth edition of Supernatural Beings! My name is Bernard Min, your little half-angel and your host for this blog article! If this is your first time reading this, this article serves to share knowledge to all of you about supernatural beings in the TV show itself as well as comparing it with real-life lores and legends! In a meantime, there are a lot of beings and stories the show hadn't cover much so I'll take the job to explain their origins ٩(^◡^)۶

Keep in mind that some of the contents of this articles may have triggering references and spoilers of the show so if this is not a thing for you then do stay away from reading this (´◡`)

For this edition, I have stumbled upon a folklore online when I was on a hunting trip - of course, you can't go somewhere empty minded about the stuff you're looking for, am I right? However, this creature may exist or not and I have never found anything like this.

Originated from New Jersey, Jersey Devil or Leeds Devil is said to be one of the legendary creature in the forest of Pine Barrens. Based on the illustrations, it is a flying biped - means two-legged- hooved creature. They have a 'similar' structure to an adult kangaroo, or maybe dragon-like. For its' head, it resembles a horse or a goat. It also has bat-like wings, horns, small arms and a forked tail. Well, think it as a phoenix but on crazy steroids! Not only that, Jersey Devil will produce a high-pitched scream that really chill your bones out.

This folklore dated way back to the 1730s where we have Jane Leeds aka Mother Leeds - a resident in Pine Barrens. She had tweleve children and was expecting the thirteen soon after. Jane then cursed in frustration and called the unborn child a 'devil'. Yikes. Not only that it is a common superstition that the number 13 is considered to be bad luck. When the child was born on the stormy night, it was just any normal baby however the child then changed to a creature with hooves, a goat's head, bat wings, and a forked tail - or Jersey Devil. It then smacked everyone with its' tail and went up to the chimney and into the pines - never to be seen again.

Jersey Devil's sightings were outdated as the last time someone had claimed so was in 1960. In 1909 however there were hundreds of claimed sightings of this said creature. Some claimed that it 'attacked' a tram and a social club. Police in the area shot this creature and there was no effect on it. Hunters roaming around the pines and since this was a big thing back then, there are hoaxes surfaced around - including those putting wings on a kangaroo.

Until this day, no one really have the proof that such Jersey Devil exists - hence it remains a folklore. There are debunked proofs of it's existance; for instance about its' clawed feet - which may come from other animals and not just the creature alone. I teleported to this exact spot flight tickets who? and found... nothing. Maybe it's my angelic side and I warded it away. What do you think? Is it real?
