My name is Solariel, an angel that was sent by God to watch over a very special someone. I am not gonna tell you who, nor will you ever guess, but I can tell that this person is destined for great things. Even if they don’t know yet. However, for me to watch the destined child, I needed to adapt to the human world… And heaven’s, what a world is that…
I can't say that I don't miss my home, however I have discovered quite some interesting things about Earth as well. Is this how all angels feel when they come here for their assignment? Yes, I still long to be free, but I do feel like I will miss Earth too when I get back home. The way you all live, it is inspiring and I will miss the joy in simple things, like a good latte machiato. However, there are other things that I would miss too.
Never in my life had I used a phone, before coming to this new place. At first, I hated the idea of using one, after all, why not just walk over to someone and talk to them in person. However, as I have to blend in and have a job, I also learned the useful side of a phone. When my coworker had to go to Japan for an assignment, I was left in the office working on the other projects my team had been assigned too. It was the same office as where my charge worked, so it was a great place to keep an eye on my charge. However, I also realized that I started to enjoy this.
Anyway, back to the phone. I was struggling with one of the assignments that had to be finished next month. It was an assignment that my coworker worked on, however I had taken over as she was in Japan. As I couldn't find her notes on the project, I decided to call her with the office phone. After all, I had seen many of my coworkers do that when they had a problem and how hard could it be? My coworker picked up after two weird beeping sounds and laughed when I told her why I called. She said she was surprised I called at all, since I made it no secret that I am not a big fan of using a phone. I laughed too, but she was patient and told me where I could find her notes and to give her a call if I got stuck.
Apparently she also called one of our other coworked, because at the end of the day one of them walked over to me and gave me a different kind of phone. It was portable and had a big screen, unlike the phone I had used today to call my coworker. They told me that all there numbers where in the phone and that they were happy that I would finally join the mobile communitywhatever that is. I laughed and thanked them and I had to admit that in some cases, a phone can truly be quite useful.

While a phone is used in a weird way these days, it can actually be quite useful. It is a simple way to reach someone that is too far away to simply walk over too. There is even a way to see the person you talk too on the phone. I have no idea how it works, but it works really well if you use it for the right reason.
