Supernatural Beings
Hello! Welcome to the seventh edition of Supernatural Beings! My name is Bernard Min, your little half-angel and your host for this blog article! If this is your first time reading this, this article serves to share knowledge to all of you about supernatural beings in the TV show itself as well as comparing it with real-life lores and legends! In a meantime, there are a lot of beings and stories the show hadn't cover much so I'll take the job to explain their origins ٩(^◡^)۶

Keep in mind that some of the contents of this articles may have triggering references and spoilers of the show so if this is not a thing for you then do stay away from reading this (´◡`)

We all know there's life after death right? Surely, you won't be here in Nexus if you don't believe so.

You may have heard about zombies, a Haitian folklore of undead, limping corpses after they are buried or in some cases, got infected with a deadly virus. For this week's being, we will be talking about 'hopping' zombies wrapped in cloth.

Also known as pocong or shroud ghost, they are the undead souls trapped in a deceased body in a shroud - which is a white cloth that was used to wrap around bodies as a preparation for their burials - usually in Muslim culture. Pocong's appearance may vary according to the time of death and sources. If they had been buried for many years back, they would look extremely decomposed or have skeletal face shape. They may have glowing red eyes - like a laser, or they may have empty eye sockets! The most prominent feature to keep an eye on is their shroud which wraps their body.

Since they are wrapped and tied, according to the beliefs - this poor soul of the deceased is trapped. So, they will wander on earth for 40 days after their death. If the ties are not released, the pocong will jump out of the grave and warn the people for the soul to be released. Once the knots are all broken, the soul will be free. In those 40 days, people have to be aware of certain places a pocong will wander and teleport - ranging from their final resting place, former homes or a banana tree farm.

Red pocong is an aggressive one - hence, red. They died in the most unpleasant way possible and decided to seek revenge in the afterlife. They are known to attack the living as they are one of the many vengeful spirits around the world. Because of their aggression towards the living, they are called the 'leader' or 'king'. So, you know which one to avoid during your hunt!

If you happen to encounter a pocong, it won't harm you (different cases if you found the red one). However, it will follow you wherever you go. Do not stand in the pocong's way while it's hopping as it will attack you. To escape, you need to lay down and pretend you are dead. Alternatively, run as far as you can and take the long road so the pocong will lose its sight on you.

Wanna be rich, hunters? According to folklore, you can become wealthy if you hug a pocong! It is said to be an act of courage and if you release its' knots, the soul will be grateful to you and you are granted to be blessed with wealth! *hugs*
