Welcome back to another blogpost of "The abnormal 101", where we talk about most interesting monsters and other beings that we know, love, and sometimes hate the most in our beloved universe. Ever wondered what would happen if an angel and a human had a child? One would expect something good, since the child is half angelic, right? Well, no not really. Let me introduce to you Jack Kline.
Jack Kline is the son of Kelly Kline and the fallen archangel Lucifer. This makes him a Nephilim, a forbidden hybrid of angel and human. His mother had an affair with Jefferson Rooney, the President of the United States, who was acting as Lucifer's vessel at the time. He was born on May 18, 2017 and is the first and only known Nephilim to be born from a union with an archangel. However, his birth cost his mother Kelly her life and the Winchester brothers took him in. The boy was fully grown within hours of Sam finding him due to his celestial lineage. Sam and Dean helped him to get his abilities under control and to use his skills in a targeted manner. In the absence of his real parents, the boy then chose the angel Castiel as his father figure. His connection and imprint on this angel was so strong that he was able to reach Castiel after his death in the Empty. Jack's directed thoughts and the angel's called name were enough to awaken the angel from his eternal sleep and bring him back to life.
Jack also had contact with his true father for a while, but ultimately rejects him, which leads to Lucifer stealing his grace and leaving him as a mere human without powers.
Due to the lack of his grace, his body can no longer sustain itself and Jack slowly dies. The attempts to save him fail and even when he receives the grace of Gabriel, it cannot save him. Jack eventually dies and ascends to heaven, where he is reunited with his mother. Eventually he is resurrected by the Winchesters and Castiel and returns to earth. However, Jack returns without a soul, as it burns out. So he wandered through the events as a soulless man and finally killed Mary Winchester, whereupon the Winchesters tried to kill him. The Nephilim wanted to make up for his actions by creating new angels, but in the end the Winchesters imprisoned him. However, when Jack breaks out of his captivity and meets the Winchesters again, they plan to kill him, but don't and spare him. This leads to God coming to Earth and killing Jack himself, plunging the world into chaos to punish humanity. Jack was sent into the void after he died again and his corpse was used as a vessel by the demon Belphegor. Castiel later kills the demon and destroys Jack's body at the same time. However, Jack is not allowed to remain in the Void in peace, but is resurrected again. He is given a plan on how to become strong enough to kill god. Jack is formed into a bomb, which would destroy God & the Darkness, but would also mean his death. Sam finally foils this plan and Jack explodes into the void. However, he manages to survive and is left without any powers.
In a final battle, he joins forces with the Winchesters, Michael and Lucifer to fight God. In this battle, Lucifer and Michael are killed and God is defeated. Jack absorbs God's power and becomes the new God, ascends to heaven, resurrects Castiel and reshapes heaven for the better. Nephilim? What are they? Nephilim are hybrids of humans and angels and are strictly forbidden by the rules of heaven. Due to this prohibition, only a few Nephilim appear in the series. In addition to Jack Kline, there is also the Nephilim Jane, who is killed by Castiel, and it is mentioned that the Queen of Sheba is said to have been a Nephilim. Nephilim have glowing eyes and sometimes also wings like their heavenly parents. They are characterized by various abilities such as super strength, astral perception (they can see the true form of angels) and super agility. It is believed that Jack, as the descendant of an archangel, has particularly immense strength and is stronger than Lucifer himself.
