SPOILER ALERT!

Every hero needs a villain to fight against. After all, how else does one become a hero? While Sam and Dean Winchester have fought many villains, there is no greater villain than the devil. Or, as we know him, Lucifer. But is Mark Pellegrino as evil as his best known role?

Before we will move on to Mark, we will take a better look at Lucifer. He was the second of the four Archangels to be created by God. Some say that he was once God's favourite, but he refused to bow down for humanity. He was also the first angel to fall and is the original ruler of Hell. Lucifer is the creator of the demons and is often seen as a father-figure to all of them.

Like other Archangles, Lucifer can only live inside a vessel if the vessel is strong enough and gives him permission. However, for him to do so, he first had to escape from his cage. When the last seal was broken by Sam Winchester, Lucifer found a way to take control of him as he was his true vessel. However, Sam's love for his brother allowed him to have enough control to lock himself, Lucifer, Michael and Adam Mulligan back inside the cage.

When Amara posed a threat, Lucifer joined forces with the Winchesters, Castiel and God to defeat Amara. In this time on Earth, he also sired a son when he spend some time with Kelly Kline. His son, Jack Kline, changed many things for Lucifer and in the end Lucifer's final death helps his son to defeat God.

While Lucifer's story is complicated and confusing, with many twists and turns, Mark Pellegrino has a much simpler life. Although, the man he believed to be his father, Bill Pellegrino, turned out not to be his biological father. However, the actor once placed a question on Twitter to ask his fans to help him find his biological father. Within an hour, Mark found out who is real father was and learned that he also had a sister.

Not much is know about his personal life. Mark married Tracy Pellegrino in 2008 and has two step-children, though he and Tracy have no biological children of their own. It is unknown if Tracy is his first wife or is Mark had been married before. He is an actor and lives in Los Angelos, though he can also often be found in Paris, France.

Unlike other actors on Supernaturals, Mark Pellegrino was already quite famous when he got the part of Lucifer. He had a recurring role in Dextor as Paul Bennett and had quite some movies in his filmography as he's been acting since 1987. However, Supernatural was the first tv series where Mark Pellegrino joined the main cast for three seasons.

After Supernatural, Mark also played big roles in Being Human (as James Bishop), The Closer (as Gavin Q. Baker III), The Tomorrow People (as Jedikiah Price), The Returned (as Jack Winship), Quantice (as Clayton Haas) and 13 Reasons Why (as Deputy Bill Standall).
