Edition #7 | Brought to you by: Neena Addams

SPOILER ALERT!

You know, we have been keeping close to the Winchester brothers in the last six issues, but there is one person that we have forgotten who meant the world to these two men. I am, ofcourse, talking about the 'sort of' father of Sam and Dean: Bobby Singer or Jim Beaver in the actual world.

Bobby Singer was an old friend of John Winchester, the real father of Sam and Dean Winchester. He was a hunter, just like John and the boys. Just like John, Bobby lost his wife, Karen Singer, though the difference is that Bobby had to kill her himself when she had been possessed by a demon. It was after this first kill that Bobby truly became one of the Hunters.

Bobby met John and his sons somewhere before December 1991 and probably helped John take care of the boys. He was also the one that gave Sam the amulet, which he would later give to his brother Dean. Even though the relation between Bobby and John could be strained sometimes, Bobby was the kind of person that would always be there for the boys and would always help them find their father.

Even though Bobby is a great hunter, in times of he stress he often drinks too much and can throw brutal and sarcastic remarks at others. He also doesn't like it when people are lazy and would often complain about this! He is very dedicated to his task, however he is always willing to make time for both Sam and Dean. Unlike the Winchesters, he is willing to spare monsters though, if they can show that they won't do any harm to the humans around them.

Jim Beaver might be quite like Bobby Singer in some ways. Jim is an actor, as well as a writer and film historian and also seems to think first, before acting, just like Bobby. Jim was born in Wyoming in a very diverse family, which can be traced back to the Cherokee, as well as France, England, Germany and Scotland.

Even though Jim is best known for his role as Bobby Singer on Supernatural, he showed little interest in acting when he was younger. After graduating from highschool, Jim joined the military and served for three years. After he was released from active duty, Jim entered the Oklahoma Christian University, where he first got interested in theatre. During his college days, Jim acted in several plays. He also began to write and finished several plays and one book.

During his college days, Jim married Debbie Young, though the couple split quite soon after. Eventually Jim married Cecily Adams, which who he has a daughter, Madeline Beaver. Sadly, Cecily died in 2004. Years later, Jim started dating Sarah Spiegel, who he married in June 2019.
