Welcome to the first episode of Angel Radio!
There are so many great songs in Supernatural to talk about that we will start right away.
And what song would be better for a start then…?
Right!
The very first one that plays in the show! What were you thinking?
I know everyone will be like “but which was the first one?” and I tell you!

Or at least I tell you what I can because it’s a bit the most mysterious song of the show.
When you look it up it’s called “Gasoline”, but you will find different artists listed and everyone is wrong!
Mostly you will find “Torch Ginger” or only “Ginger” but if you listen to the actual song from that artist you will notice in an instant that it’s a completely different music genre!
Also, it wasn’t released before 2015 which is 10 years too late to be the very first song in the pilot.
The real artist is a mystery and I really hope we will find it out one day.
(I actually twittered Eric Kripke, may he can tell us!)
But for now, we will go with “Gasoline” as it is.
Now let’s take a look at the part of the Songtext that is to hear in the Show:
I've been shot from a cannon
I am a human cannonball
I'm gonna fly
I'm gonna fall fall fall!
It’s not that spectacular but now let us link it with the scene it is in.
Jessica is getting ready for the Halloween Party and calls Sam if he will come with her and aks where his costume is.

And now you see that this text fits pretty well with our younger Winchester.
The human cannonball, used in a battle, that will fall.
Even in the later seasons a good comparison.
Of course, you can now discuss if the song was chosen because of that deeper meaning or because it was just a song Kripke or the Editor liked but we all know that nearly every song has a deeper meaning in this series.
While you can find our song of the week here, you can listen to all the songs out of episode one and more here on our Angel Radio!
Keep on rocking and stay tuned my wayword sons and sisters!
