Hello there! Today I am bring you an all new blog post... Something that I think you all might enjoy, after all... We here at the Nexus have many different spieces that are living amoung us. From Daphmirs' to even a Sphinx. Today, I figured we could start with one that hits... well, rather close to home for me... Werewolves whom are also known as Lycanthropes.
As you know, a werewolf is a monster, one that is controlled by the fullmoon. Though, the werewolves we have here are different than most you can find in lore. The werewolves turn into a half human half wolf creature during the fullmoon. During the moon, these creatures crave only one thing... hearts. But, did you know there are three different typs of werewolves? Yes, you heard right... I said three... And today, I am going to tell you a bit about each one.
Pureblood
A pureblood werewolf is someone who was turned by a werewolf close to the alpha, generally up to the fourth generation. These wolves, have more control over their form then those of a regualr werewolf status. Meaning, when the time comes, they can eat the heart of animals instead of humans. A pureblood werewolf also retains more of their human side during their transformations. Meaning, when they go back to their human nature they will remember their transformation. But, if these creatures eat one human heart, it is harder for them to control themselves.
But don't get me wrong, there can be some issuse for those who are transformed into a pureblood werewolf. Some people have been known to go almost... mad with power. Due to feeling the new found strenght that they have now gained. It is easier though, for those who were born into the pureblood werewolf gene to not have these issues.
Regular Werewolves
These are ones you classify as not close to the Aplha... Anything from the fifth generation down. Regular werewolves have no control over themselves when they transform during the peak of the lunar cycle. During this time, they will transform and eat a human heart 9 times out of ten. People who are this type of werewolf will suffer short term memory loss when they transform back to their human state due to not being able to remember what happened during the time they were a werewolf.
Grace Enhanced Werewolf
Sounds scary, right? Well, in a sense yes. These are basically your werewolves but they have a slight difference. They must drink their blood mixed with angel grace. And well, if this happens they are stronger and immune to silver unlike their brothern whom is harmed by it.
Strenghts and Weaknesses
Werewolves have many different strenghts and a couple of weaknesses, below I will show you them:
Shapeshifting: Pure bloods are able to transform at will. Meaning, they don't need the full moon to go to their half human, half wolf state. But all, do have the shapeshifting ability.
Infectious bite: While in their beast form, their bite is infectious meaning they are able to turn other humans into a werewolf.
Claws and Fangs: Werewolves have strong claws and fangs. Their claw are able to cut into walls. And their fangs are able to cut into human flesh.
Super Strength: Werewolves are stronger than humans. After all, they are easily able to tear into human flesh,break bones easily and some have even been seen being able to break a stong with their bare hands.
Enhanced Agility: Werewoves can run faster and jump greater distances than a human.
Super Speed, Super Stamina and Super senses: all of these things werewolves can do. They run faster, they don't tire easily and their senses are better than a human. They can see in the dark, and they are able to smell and hear better.
Invulnerability: Werewolves cannot be killed in conventional ways, meaning being shot with a normal bullet in a place where a human would die. Though, they do have a weakness to sliver... If they come into contact with it, it will burn them. And it can kill them, is stabbed or shot in the correct place. The only werewolves not hurt by silver are Grace Inhanced Werewolves, they are immune to it.
Regeneration: Werewolves can heal themselves and regnearate all non leathal harm.
As many of you know by now, I am a werewolf. Now, many probably know that this was due to a hunting accident when I was going on a hunt with Dastan. For me, being a werewolf has been... well, difficult. Even with me being a pureblood werewolf. Life for me has changed, it always will be different. People of course will never see me the same, and fear me for what I am. Though, I must say not all of us are monsters. Some of us are trying to just live day to day, trying our best to be normal. Trying our best to be in the life we once were before it changed. I hope this helped you know a bit more about werewolves.
